Does the committee look at ISR at all? Or is it just RPI, SOS, and other factors?

Sure Donnie, whatever you say bud. If all other leagues played 3/4 of their games at home, I'm sure they'd be doing just as well as y'all's teams down there. Every once in a blue moon, a team from the Southeast will travel and challenge themselves, but home cookin is more their style. Be interesting to see how things shake out the rest of the way, certainly.

I've seen you write a couple of articles in the last couple of years about not doubting South Carolina anymore. You just can't seem to help yourself though.
Seems like I remember seeing your site predicting earlier in the year that they wouldn't even host a Regional. One little rough part during the season (part of baseball)and you jumped ship quickly. If you were really a believer now , you would assume they will continue the late season winning streak as usual and easily wrap up a national seed.
What have they done in the past 2 1/2 years that would have one assume otherwise, as you have with your "bubble out "prediction ?
You just need to be a little more consistent, like for instance, the SC baseball team.

Great job as always Aaron. Keep an eye on Vanderbilt. They are starting to come around. As for Vince whining about the SEC and ACC. Maybe you should just come to realize that the best baseball, just like football, is played in the Southeast. I have watched people on here for years whine about BA and other sites favoring the SEC. Either get on our level or accept reality.

It's not Aaron's fault the NCAA loves money. Long Beach, Cal Poly, all the Pac 12's would be in, if they averaged SEC does per game. It is obvious they want those fans to travel to Omaha and not the West Coast schools. Look what happened the last time, before the Super Regionals where they can pit the best from the Pac and Big West together, 6 of the 8 teams in Omaha were West Coast squads. NCAA is all about the dollar.

Being a Cal State Fullerton guy, I have been frustrated over the years by "near misses" for a national seed. Looking back however, the selection committee is usually pretty accurate and the BA staff is usually right on as far as figuring how the committee will rank them.
What I do not understand however, is the big difference between weekly rankings and the projected seedings. If a team is honestly not up to the standard of the committee, why are they good enough for a "make believe" ranking?
Regardless, if Fullerton or anyone else wants to go to Omaha, they need to keep winning games, keep winning and keep going! All the debate is fun, but many times seeded teams don't get it done and every now and then, a team gets hot at the right time like Fresno State did in '08, and takes home the prize. The rest of us are lucky because we get to watch it happen!

Aaron,
Great job with this stock report! Love the job you do even though I don't always agree with your conclusions. However, you always use sound logic in reaching them. Don't worry about these other knuckeheads who call you biased one way or the other. From my perspective you do a great job a not being biased. Keep up the good work! Go GameCocks!

Hey Aaron, the weekly Stock Report is my favorite thing you guys put out. Keep up the good work. Huge Auburn fan here, but I'm feeling very pessimistic about our chances in the final 3 weeks. at UGA, at Arkansas, vs Florida. I don't realistically see us doing better than 3-6 in these 9 games. Just curious if that would be enough to keep us in the field. Of course we have played our best baseball against the better teams in our league, so anything is possible. Also, I think the biggest series is this weekend at Georgia. If we can sneak out of Athens with 2 of 3, we will have beaten every bubble team in our league except Vandy who has some work to do to be eligible for the post-season at all. Just curious about your thoughts. Thanks.

I have a hard time seeing that Southeastern belongs in the field of 64 ahead of a Tulane team that swept them in a 3 game series this season. What has Southeastern done that Tulane hasn't? And on top of that, C-USA is the 5th ranked conference in the RPI, while the Southland is 13th!!! How can each of these conferences get three teams in based on that logic?

Here's a great idea: why not just have all 8 national seeds come from the ACC or SEC, since you guys at BA trumpet them so loudly all the time? A team from another league loses 2 of 3 and they sink like a stone in the RPI but Auburn sweeps a bad Tennessee team and they jump 16 spots?? Gimme a break! I know BA doesn't have anything to do with the RPI but you do use it as a factor in your weekly Stock Report. I guess winning has it's advantages but I didn't notice any Pac-10 teams' RPI's climbing so drastically after sweeping say, Washington St. or UW in the seasons after Oregon St. won back to back titles a few years ago. Don't get me wrong; I love the college coverage by BA but can you ease up on the ACC/SEC bias a little please?

I am not on the committee, and the committee does not factor in how a team is ranked in the Baseball America Top 25 when filling out the field. I look at the factors the committee looks at to try and forecast how it will break things down: the RPI, records against top 25 and 50, quality series wins, conference standings, strength of schedule. The committee puts more emphasis on the RPI than I do -- we do not consult the RPI at all when compiling our rankings. Also, the rankings are fluid from week to week -- they are intended to serve as a weekly snapshot of the college landscape, not a definitive statement about the quality of each team and its resume. Finally, geographic factors weigh into the hosting and at-large discussion; those factors have nothing to do with our top 25.

You lost a lot of cred with this stock report or either your rankings nor the RPI means nothing to you when you fill out your report, You put either in ( with a national seed) or on the bubble your top six, 8, and 9, then drop all the way to YOUR ranking of 13 and 16 to round it out. Do you thin that the 5 teams in front of Stanford and the 8 in front of UNC will do that bad over the next three weeks?
