I agree. I believe that Jungmann is simply tired. He's thrown 141 innings this season. He threw 94 innings his freshman season and 120 last year, which means this is uncharted territory for him. Once he passed the 125-inning mark this season, he just hasn't been crisp, reliable, or effective. In hindsight, perhaps it would have been better to keep his pitch count around 100 to 105 pitches per game rather than letting him throw 120 to 130 as he has a handful of times this season. Nonetheless, he's still one of the best pitchers in the history of UT baseball, and I appreciate the memories he's given us. Hook 'em Horns! Jim Fletcher, 1997 UT-Austin alumnus

It appears he has a tired arm and he probably won't admit it. Not much snap on his breaking ball and not much forward thrust on his fastball, it appears he's just going through the motions, at least that's what I saw. He doesn't appear to be very confident and he showed much more aggressiveness as a freshman in my opinion. He needs to take the rest of the rest of the summer off.
