I’m not Nostradamus. But, before GT, FSU, Rice and Texas lost today; I predicted the 8 National Seed teams would include 3 from the SEC, only 2 from the ACC, 1 from the Lone Star state, 1 Pac 10 team and CS Fullerton. But, if ASU and Oregon State both lose their weekend series, an additional TX or ACC team may slip in. Believing me, yet?

I understand the need for RPI to compare teams of differing conferences with no similar schedule, but when two teams are in the same conference, and the team that finished first in the conference swept the team that finished second, I really don't care what the computers say; the conference champion should be the team with the national seed.

Can RPI really justify ASU over OSU assuming both win their respective series this weekend? Both have the same record against recent similiar opponents (1-2 vs USC and 2-1 vs UW), AND the Beavs took all three from the Sun Devils. BTW – Doesn't being the PAC-10 champ mean anything? If it goes as you suggest, pity to the national seed lined up against the Orange N Black in the super regionals!

Nice work, Aaron. As always, a comprehensive job. But, Fullerton (deservingly) gets a 7th or 8th National Seed. 2 or 3 teams will play their way out of Top Seeds, this week. Regardless, the Titans have already earned a National Seed.

How do you expect the super pairings among the Texas schools to shake out assuming only Texas gets a national seed? I'm guessing that Rice is paired with Texas – to avoid a 3rd straight year of TCU-UT – and A&M/TCU are sent on the road. Is that in line with your thinking and where would you expect A&M and TCU to be sent?

I wouldn’t count on 4 Sun Belt teams — the Cagins and Hilltoppers don’t have the RPIs.

@darryl0 – Yup, that's why Oregon State and Fullerton are both "secure" – the Regional bubble includes every team that's in discussion for the National seeds.

I'm not buying that the selection committee will only award 1 regional hosting site that is west of Texas (that being ASU). I believe that some team in California or Oregon will host a regional.
