OMAHA—The first game of the 2010 College World Series is in the books. Texas Christian took control of the contest in the first inning, and the game was never competitive after that. The Horned Frogs rolled to an 8-1 win in their first-ever CWS game. Freshman sensation Matt Purke was brilliant for TCU, allowing just one unearned run on four hits and four walks while striking out seven over seven innings. The TCU offense was led by Bryan Holaday and Jason Coats, who combined for five hits and four RBIs.
Plenty more to come after the postgame press conferences.
