Randomly just found this article today…2010 was surely a special CWS at Rosenblatt Stadium, your words bring back so many emotional memories for me personally. Thanks for another great piece of journalism, this one is getting printed and going in my CWS scrapbook!
PS: You looked good on TV last night at the CapeCod All-Star game!

Agreed w/Jared. What a special place-the stadium & neighborhood around it-and it's tough to swallow it'll all be gone when it feels like it shouldn't have to be. Maybe I'm clouded a little by sentiment, but honestly don't see what is so 'antiquated' or 'out-dated' about Rosenblatt. It isn't brand new & doesn't have water slides beyond the fences or cupholders behind each seat, but I was perfectly fine w/that. The concourses are somewhat narrow, but it's not that bad. The outside and inside of the stadium are beautiful, the seats were plenty comfortable and the views/sightlines were terrific. Doesn't feel like it should have to go.

It was 2.15 to be precise. Texas had a 1.40 ERA in 2005, not sure what the record is, but both are pretty good and both are national champions.

This sort of reminds me of the movie and saying, "If they build it they will come." Most of these young men play for the Love of the Game. Most will never play Pro-Ball but for them today will always be in their hearts and minds. And the fans also.

They'll never be able to re-capture the lingering and everlasting greatness Rosenblatt stadium has given those of us left in this world that care less about money and more about tradition, the game of baseball itself, and watching it being played by young men who wear their passion for the game on their sleeves. This is just one more horrific money grab brought to us by the not-for-profit (yeah RIGHT!) NCAA.
