[Editor's Note: This comment has been edited for length.] How would Pitt and UConn do if they played Florida State's schedule? I would argue that they probably end up with a similar record this year. UConn would probably finish with a better record actually. I'm pretty confident that the Huskies have a better team than Florida State. Yet, Florida State, is going to host as a #1, UConn may host but will be a #2, and Pitt is on the bubble.& Seriously, what more could UConn have done this year to get a #1 seed and host? nbsp;Would going 50-5 have gotten them a #1 seed? Obviously, it looks like Virginia and Florida are pretty darn good this year. However, the rest of the teams in the SEC and ACC don't seem any more special than UConn and yes, maybe even PItt. So, give me some reasons why you should be getting the 8 hosts and #1 seeds according to Aaron's projections? Please don't bring up RPI because it is a joke. SOS is based on RPI so forget about it. Before you talk about how great your conferences are top to bottom remember Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Duke, Maryland, and Wake Forrest. Georgia, Maryland, and Wake are terrible teams this year. Miss St. and Duke are bad. Kentucky and Tennessee are very average at best. This post is pretty much just me venting my frustration at the system that is in place. Special, special years by UConn and Pitt and they are still going to be up against it come tourney time. I'm honestly worried that Pitt may get left at home and a Kentucky or Tennessee will go in their place.

With Cal State Fullerton's big win against UCLA tonight, they swept the season series with the Bruins. If they can take care of business this weekend, against CS Northridge, they are deserving of a national seed.

Does the committee try to avoid having number 1 and 2 seeds in a region who have played one another already in the regular season? As a Clemson fan, I hope so as I sure don't want to be in a regional with Coastal or S. Car (if we are a #2 seed) or CofC (if we are a #1 seed).
I know they try to keep costs low, but it is so much more interesting to see teams from all parts of the country playing one another in a regional. Plus, I would like to pull for those teams from the Big South and Southern Conference, which is hard to do if they are put in the same regional as Clemson.
I imagine that those in Calif feel the same way – rather than a regional with other Calif schools they might want to see how they would do against some east coast teams.

Glad to see the Sooners in hosting a regional, but now worried that they may send the TCU Horned Frogs to Norman for a STACKED regional. Looking like we may get TCU, ORU (with a mid con conference championship) and hopefully Arkansas goes somewhere else altogether.

Aaron — you've mentioned in the podcast and the chats over the last couple of weeks that you like Texas or UVA as the overall #1 seed over Arizona State. I'm curious what the rationale is, since ASU ranks above the Hoos and Horns in RPI, SOS, ISR, and YABBADABBADOO (I could be reaching on that last part.) Is it simply that you trust those other squads talent more, do you think the committee likes ACC or Big 12 squads more than the Pac 10 — what's your line of thinking that puts both of those squads ahead of the Sun Devils in terms of seeding for the tournament? (I'm willing to buy the ranking at #3 as there's obviously not much separating them, but it matters more for seeding purposes for the tourney.)
