I did ignore some of the players from minor conferences in the southeast. But I mean, if you're asking me to choose between the Southern Conference and the Big West Conference, it's no contest.

I think we should wait a few years before we can put an end to the idea that the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee has a bias toward two large conferences that play most of their ball east of the Mississippi, and south of the Mason Dixon line. I mean, one year does not a trend make. Even the BigXII gets the short end of the stick in some seasons, though they generally also get the benefit of the doubt in many other seasons.

Also, let's not forget, the west coast exists beyond the Pac10. Considering some of the talent that's come out of the woodwork in recent years, even from a true "mid-major" baseball conference in the WAC, I'd say there are many things that could be learned about west coast baseball, particularly in the smaller conferences.

All that being said, I honestly believe the NCAA Baseball tournament could be due for slight expansion, or possibly "play-in" games for tournament spots. After all, with the way scholarship limits are imposed on baseball, and how the pro draft is implemented, I believe there's more parity than just about any other college sport. It hasn't ALWAYS been that way in the sport, but I'd say it has been the case since LSU's decade of dominance came to an end.

It's a shame Coastal and Charleston are in the same regional. It would have been nice to have seen what damage Charleston could have done elsewhere.
And not that Auburn is a pushover, but I am glad that Clemson got Auburn rather than Coastal.

UNC had to hold its breath until the very last part of the bracket was revealed...just like with the NIT. Gotta love the drama.
