GREENVILLE, N.C.—Virginia and East Carolina are tied 1-1 after one inning of play, and both starters looked a bit shaky in the early going. ECU's Brad Mincey threw 22 pitches in the first, and Virginia's Cody Winiarski threw 23. Both of them relied heavily on their offspeed stuff and each used four different pitches in the first.
