California College Baseball Media Day Scheduled

Coaches in California will get fans and media ready for the college baseball season in grand fashion. For the first time, teams from around the state will take part in the Easton California College Baseball Media Day on Jan. 22 at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney and Jan. 26 at Stanford. Each day's program will begin at 9 a.m.

Coaches from the Southern California region, from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, will take part in the media event in Anaheim on Jan. 22, where coaches will be available for breakout sessions and the second annual Coaches Cookoff.

In Northern California, teams from the Bay Area as well as the Sacramento area will hold a live webcast of the three-hour event at the Kissick Auditorium of the Arrillaga Sports Center on the Stanford campus on Jan. 26.

“This is a great event to showcase all that the Golden State has to offer in regards to college baseball,” said Kyle Horn, Easton's vice president of marketing. “I am happy that Easton can play a big part in this event, and further our commitment to the collegiate game.”

Kudos to the schools in the West for coming up with a creative, cooperative way to promote the game.

If Easton is footing the bill for this…are they going to have the Easton Reception at the Dorley Zoo in Omaha the first day of the CWS as they did forever until several years ago.  After all this is the last year the CWS will be worth going to since it is will never return to Rosenblatt after 2010.

The SoCal coaches had something similar for six years before not having one last season.  Here's a link from the Big West website.
