It’s a Baseball America College Podcast, only this one’s live from Rosenblatt, and you have to look at me and Aaron, and it’s not portable, so it’s technically not a podcast. And it’s less than five minutes.
Otherwise, it’s exactly the same. Hope you enjoy it.

you sound as though lsu dominated that series, arkansas outscored lsu 14-13 in those three games, it was a hard fought series and that was the start of the swoon, not arkansas at its best, but please keep picking against us b/c we keep winning when you do
Posted by Brandon | June 14, 2009 at 12:06 am | ShortcutIf Texas goes with Cole Green against Southern Mississippi today, I don’t think it will be because Ruffin needs the rest. It will be because Southern Mississippi is a team that seems to feast on fastballs, and Cole Green primarily throws curveballs and off-speed stuff. Also, contrary to what you said in your video, Green did pitch against TCU in Texas’ 3-2 super regional loss last weekend. Hook ‘em Horns!

Thanks for the correction, Jim — Green did in fact start the second game of the super regional, pitching into the eighth inning but taking the loss in the 3-2 game. I do believe Ruffin may need extra rest the way he was over-used in the super regional.

Posted by Jim Fletcher | June 14, 2009 at 12:11 pm | ShortcutI hope that Arkansas and Texas keep winning. Maybe they’ll even play one another in the championship series. That would be funny if the two teams (of the eight) with the least impressive offensive statistics ended up playing one another for the national championship. It would be cool to see the old Southwest Conference foes square off once again. Hook ‘em Horns!
[...] VIDEO: Baseball America recaps day, says LSU in driver’s seat [...]
Posted by Hit the Links: Diamond Hogs the talk of the town | MrSEC.com | June 14, 2009 at 12:21 pm | ShortcutAaron, you’re fine on video, great vlog, John & Aaron. Embrace your new medium guys. Works well for both of you.
Well said, CSF opting not to put a “crooked number” up, bunting when a hit would have possibly started a carousel on the base paths was short sighted, to be kind. High expectations for some fans can certainly have depressing outcomes. To lose the first game, when the team was riding so high… that’s a bummer on steriods. Congrats to Arkansas. They simply continue what they’ve been doing in the reg, SR’s. LSU looked to be firing on all cylinders. John & Aaron weren’t alone in going 0-2 with their day 1 picks.
Posted by PhxTitan | June 14, 2009 at 12:51 pm | ShortcutThe Austin American-Statesman just reported that Cole Green will start tonight’s game versus Southern Mississippi. The rationale provided by Augie was that Green provides a better matchup against USM, and Ruffin will be available to pitch what is often considered the most important pre-championship game of the tournament. Augie also said that Preston Clark will start in left field, which probably means that Moldenhauer will be the designated hitter for the Longhorns. Hook ‘em Horns!
Posted by Jim Fletcher | June 14, 2009 at 2:04 pm | ShortcutAs someone who sat through the 3 game series in Fayetteville, I disagree LSU easily beat Arkansas 2 of 3. Andy Wilkins had an absolute bomb with a man on base sail within inches outside the right field foul pole on Sunday which would have given Arkansas 2 more runs in a 1 run loss allowing Arkansas to take 2 of 3 from LSU. Louis Coleman dominated Arkansas with a complete game 2 hit shutout who will be pitching Monday night. However, LSU failed to score a single run off Arkansas’ bullpen in the 3 game regular season series. With both teams swinging the bat well, hopefully it will be a great matchup.
