UVA looks to be doing a little East Coast swing out on the Left Coast, Irvine is still very much in the thick of it though and if somehow SDSU can get to Monday and throw Big boy again anything is possible. But with UVA's arms and good defense and they seem to be the best hitting team to boot, they look really good. They could be in the mix for the National title for the next few years with that young squad.

Have been paying attention to UVa since the ACC tourney (even though I'm local I only made it to 2 games this year), and they seem to be a really solid team.

Obviously, beating Strasburg was huge, but in the ACC tourney they had comeback wins against Clemson (regional host), Duke, and Florida State (regional host), and blew out UNC (regional host).

So to be on the run they're on is pretty impressive, and fun to watch.

The thing that amazes me is that there are only 2 juniors (and no seniors) in the typical starting 9...should be good for a few more years, barring defections/injuries/academic problems.

Pro prospects? Hultzen, Jarrett Parker, Dan Grovatt, and closer Kevin Arrico?

It's still a shame that UVA was shafted and sent to Irvine, but they've made the most of it and given themselves more national recognition as a result. O'Connor's had a solid program there, but not getting to a Super yet was a big hole. This is their regional to lose, and I'll be surprised if they lose it.

Hultzen looked good. Raw, but good. A few years of college development, some added muscle (seems a bit scrawny), and I could see him as a solid first round pick come 2011. Packer's breaking ball had some bite to it.

Gotta think this plays well for all the Ole Miss fans...I know I was one of many glued to this game tonight. Looks like we might be able to get another super regional in Oxford.....UVA vs Ole Miss would be a great matchup of very similarly style teams(though I fear the cavies are the significantly hotter team right now)
