ASU pitched weekend pitchers? If ASU had pitched weekend pitchers Arkansas would have seen two of the best pitchers in the nation: Leake and Spence.
This was a good test for the EXTREMELY young Devils and will serve them very well come tourney time.

Arizona State is a very strong team this year, they have a spectacular offense, and great defense, and their pitching really tops it off. Sometimes Arizona State's pitching really gets them in trouble and thats hard because they still doing great on offense. But Arkansas definately did a good job of executing on offense and defense against the Sun Devils, but both are still two very great teams.

Congrats to the Hogs on two wins versus ASU. Arkansas pitching somehow managed a loaves-and-fishes miracle to beat the No. 1 team 7-3 in the first game, and then MANAGED to crank out 8 runs on 11 hits against the country's best midweek bullpen scrubs to claim the series and a sweep of the Sun Devils. If Arizona State had pitched its' weekend rotation, the outcome would have been very different...Maybe.
I attended both games in Fayetteville, and this was a gritty, hotly contested series both nights. Arkansas and Arizona played hard and well, and although errors were committed by BOTH teams, someone had to win and this time it was the Hogs times two. Last year it was ASU.
A true heavy weight fight between two high quality teams that could meet again in the post season.

Tuck your shirt in, Aaron, your bias is showing again.

Arkansas has proven all year that they can beat any team. Their offense is better than most teams, including Arizona State and their best hitters Eibner, Wilkins, and Cox have struggled until the last two weeks. Arizona State pitched weekend pitchers against Arkansas's normal mid-week rotation (Eibner- power hitter/pitcher) and still couldn't stop the Hogs offense. Plus pitching coach Dave Jorne says they still have 4 guys who could come on in the last half of the season as well. Arkansas has always been good in baseball, and 11,014 at the game is no accident. See everyone in Omaha. GO HOGS!!!

Now you for sure can't keep the hogs out of the top ten. What more do they have to prove? Proving themselves to be the best in the SEC at the moment and knocking off the number one team twice in a row, they should be up top. Let their play speak for itself. Woo pig sooie!
