ASU had wiped the floor with Auburn in the Friday night game, 8-2 (allowed two ninth-inning runs) and was up 8-0 in game two before falling 11-8, which included a 7-run 5th inning. I would think that would be a punch in the mouth. Just Murphy being Murphy. Too much was made about 9.6 runs per game and not enough about Beaver pitching holding ASU to 4.75 over 4 games coming into the CWS.
