Catchers have been the hottest commodity on the trade market this offseason, and no team had a more acute need for an upgrade at the position than the Angels. That's why Los Angeles dealt promising 21-year-old righthander Tyler Chatwood to the Rockies for heavy-hitting backstop Chris Iannetta.

Marlins Deal John Baker To Padres For Wade LeBlanc

The Marlins and Padres brokered a minor trade, each dealing from surplus, just two days prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. Lefthander Wade LeBlanc, a Padres second-round selection in 2006 with nearly 300 big league innings under his belt, heads to Miami, while 30-year-old, lefty-hitting catcher John Baker moves to San Diego.

2011 Pioneer League Top 20 Prospects With Scouting Reports

Despite its Rookie-advanced classification, the Pioneer League plays more like the short-season New York-Penn leagues or Northwest leagues than its sister Appalachian League. Whereas Appy Leaguers average about 20 years in age, the other three leagues come in just north of 21. To that end, half of this year's PL Top 20 Prospects list consists of players with four-year college experience, including four of the top 10.
