The longtime marketing and sales director for a local Harrisburg, Pa., television station took the helm for the Senators roughly 18 months ago and has been charged with guiding the Double-A Eastern League affiliate through a $45 million renovation of the ballpark he has been attending as a fan for 20 years.

It is never easy when it comes to baseball in Richmond. The sale of the Eastern League's Connecticut franchise to a Richmond-based ownership group was declared by both sides in April to be imminent. Yet no deal had been struck four weeks later as Memorial Day came and went, and a June 1 deadline (which had already been extended at least once) to complete the deal was fast approaching.
