In his three-year football career at Patrick Henry High in Hamler, Ohio, Marc Krauss collected 46 receiving touchdowns and 3,460 career receiving yards, totals that place him among the top five in each category today. He even got it done with the leg, converting 171 extra points, a total that still ranks among the top 10. But amidst being courted by college football recruiters, Krauss was toying with the idea of leaving the gridiron altogether.

A biology major with medical school aspirations, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound righthander envisioned himself becoming the next Dr. James Andrews after his career at Jacksonville State came to a close.
