Double-A Trenton manager Bill Masse knows the exact reason Tyler Clippard has tasted success in the second half of the season. "It all goes to Dave Eiland," Masse said of his pitching coach. "He did the same thing with Jeff Karstens." Eiland, a former Yankees pitcher, has stressed understanding the science of pitching at an age when most hurlers believe their talent will carry them through.
